The City of Prince Albert has been hit with heft fines after a worker was injured in a fall.
According to Saskatchewan’s Ministry of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety, the city pleaded guilty to a violation of the province’s occupational health and safety regulation after failing to ensure workers were using fall protection when there is a possibility of a fall three metres or more.

The city was fined $67,857.14 along with a surcharge of $27,142.86, bringing the total up to $95,000.
The ministry said the charges stemmed from an incident dating back to September of 2022, when a worker fell more than three metres while trying to dislodge the nozzle from a hose.
