Murray Wood: It's time to pull over reckless people on scooters, bikes
Murray Wood says he's had too many close calls with people on scooters, bikes and skateboards. But he's never seen them ...
The westbound lanes of the Trans-Canada Highway that were closed near Moose Jaw on Thursday morning reopened early in the afternoon.
The Moose Jaw Police Service said officers responded just after 9:15 a.m. to a call about someone being trapped under a vehicle on the highway near Lakeview Road.
“Once on the scene, police determined it was a single-vehicle accident with an individual being struck by the vehicle,” the police said in a release.
Police said the person was taken to hospital by paramedics with serious injuries.
The crash prompted police to close the highway’s westbound lanes between the Manitoba Expressway and Thatcher Drive East. Westbound traffic was rerouted along the Manitoba Expressway.
The accident remains under investigation.
