A death Saturday morning at the Saskatoon Provincial Correctional Centre isn’t considered suspicious by investigators.
According to Saskatoon police, officers responded at around 11 a.m. to the jail after getting a call that a 34-year-old man had been found unresponsive in his cell. Medical staff attended to the man, but he was pronounced dead.
“The cause of death is undetermined at this time, however foul play is not suspected,” police said in a release. “An autopsy is scheduled for a later date.”
The Saskatchewan Coroners Service will be handling the investigation.
