A 31-year-old man added to his legal troubles after allegedly hitting a cop in the face Saturday evening.
The alleged incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. at the police service’s detention center while the man was seeing a justice of the peace for unrelated charges.
Police said as the man attempted to leave the room he struck a constable in the face.
The officer’s injury was described as minor.
The suspect is charged with assaulting a police officer.
