Details are scarce about a Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes investigation into the discovery of human remains Monday morning near North Battleford.
A police release Thursday said Battlefords RCMP got a call about a body that had been found near a forested area southeast of the city.
Major Crimes investigators are trying to identify the remains with the help of the Saskatchewan Coroners Service.
The release said no other details about the case were available. The RCMP didn’t say if the remains were those of a man or a woman, or the cause of the person’s death.
Anyone with information that could help the Mounties was asked to call the Battlefords RCMP detachment at 306-446-1720, their local police service, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
