A 25-year-old man was allegedly caught peeking into windows on Saskatoon’s west side while carrying gun parts and ammunition on Friday morning.
According to police, a resident phoned in a report of a suspicious person after seeing the man peering into windows in the early-morning hours. When officers arrived at Avenue X South, they spotted a man standing at the window of a home with a large, heavy bag in hand.
“As the man noticed police, he fled on his bicycle,” police said in a statement. “A brief foot pursuit ensued and the suspect was taken into custody a short distance away.”
Police said the bag contained the upper receiver of a rifle and ammunition.
The man is now facing a number of weapons charges, police noted.
