The Saskatoon Ex is a place for everyone of all ages to go out, enjoy the summer weather, eat some crazy food items and go on some rides.
For some fairgoers Tuesday, seeing their child be able to go on rides is amazing.
“Our son grew up a bit this year so he is now big enough to go on some rides,” Ash Schneider said on the first day of the exhibition at Prairieland Park. “We have been on every kiddy ride possible thus far.”
Ash’s wife, Carron Schneider, also went on the Vertigo ride, which she had wanted to go on for a bit.
“It was amazing. I waited a year to go on it and it was worth the wait,” she said. “The views you got from the ride were also spectacular.”
Mason Wilson had gone on a couple rides, but The Zipper was his favourite.
“I’d give it a 10 out of 10. The other rides were a little bit boring,” he said.
For some, it’s not all about the rides but the nighttime performances.
“I come for the concerts and I am pretty excited for this year’s shows,” said Brendon Viteychuk. “I’m hoping to see the Arkells (on Tuesday) and hopefully Finger Eleven (on Wednesday).”
The Ex has increased security this year after three incidents in 2022 when patrons were hit with bear spray. Metal detectors have been set up at entrances this year to guard against that possibility.
The Saskatoon Ex runs until Sunday.
