An emergency alert in a Saskatchewan First Nation has ended.
The dangerous person alert was issued shortly after 11 a.m. Thursday by the Onion Lake RCMP, asking community members to stay inside and report any sightings of 35-year-old Randy Cooke. He was believed to be carrying a gun while travelling on foot in the area of the Onion Lake Cree Nation.
The RCMP said officers found and arrested Cooke at around 4:30 p.m.
“The SaskAlert has been cancelled as there is no public safety risk to the community in relation to this incident,” the RCMP said in a statement.
No further information was shared by police, but the RCMP noted the investigation has not yet concluded.
