A Saskatoon police officer was left with minor injuries Thursday after a man allegedly sleeping in a restaurant bathroom woke up looking for a fight.
Police said officers were called to a restaurant on 22nd Street East for a report of an intoxicated man sleeping in the bathroom.
“Upon arrival, officers located the male who became extremely combative upon waking him up,” police said in a statement. “The male physically assaulted an officer by shoving and choking them.”
The man was arrested, police said, and now faces charges of assaulting a police officer and breaching conditions.
“He was believed to be under the influence of an intoxicant,” police added.
