Police in Saskatoon have been looking for the person or people responsible for the killing of Hughie James Assiniboine since 2006, and 17 years later they’re not giving up.
According to police, Assiniboine was found dead in the afternoon of May 5, 2006. Police were called to a home on 22nd Street West, where they found the 23-year-old’s body. An autopsy later confirmed his death was a homicide, police said.
“The investigation into this historical homicide remains open,” police said in a statement. “No suspects have been arrested but investigators believe members of the public may have information helpful in solving the case.”
Anyone with information that could help the investigation was urged to contact the Saskatoon Police Service or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
