A crash Sunday near Elstow has claimed a life.
The RCMP said Monday a 43-year-old woman from Warman was pronounced dead at the scene after her SUV and a CP train collided.
Police said the woman was travelling east on Highway 16 when the crash occurred. CP Police, fire, EMS, the Saskatchewan Coroners Service and an RCMP traffic reconstructionist were called to the scene.
The RCMP said Monday the coroners service has ordered an autopsy.
The highway was closed in that area for roughly seven hours. No injuries were reported by CP rail staff.
The investigation is ongoing.
Elstow is about 55 kilometres southeast of Saskatoon.
