Saskatoon police say officers used a taser to bring down an armed man Tuesday night.
Police were called to the 2300 block of 22nd Street West just after 9 p.m. about a man assaulting a woman with an “edged weapon.”
According to police, the suspect ran from the scene and pulled out a gun when officers attempted to arrest him. The taser was then deployed and a 33-year-0ld man was taken into custody without further incident.
He is facing assault and weapons-related charges.
The taser incident will be reviewed in accordance with police policy.
