A fire late Sunday afternoon has damaged a former high school in the village of Marcelin.
The village of around 150 people is located an hour’s drive north of Saskatoon.
According to Blaine Lake Fire Chief Thomas Lozowchuck, a crew of seven firefighters, a tanker and a pumper arrived to help Marcelin firefighters around 5:30 p.m.
Marcelin Fire Chief Mitchell McCormick declined an interview, and would only say the building had been abandoned for some time.
There’s no word yet on the cause of the blaze or the extent of the damage to the building.
Blaine Lake RCMP officers are assisting in the investigation.
