A 49-year-old man is dead and a 41-year-old woman has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with his death.
On Saturday at about 1:10 a.m., the La Loche RCMP got a call that an injured person was being driven to hospital.
The officers and paramedics found and stopped the vehicle on the road, but the man was pronounced dead. He has been identified as Ryan Piche from the Clearwater River Dene Nation.
The police investigation determined an altercation had occurred at a house in Garson Lake. A woman from La Loche was arrested and charged with one count of second-degree murder.
She was to appear in court in La Loche on Monday.
