Saskatoon Police are clarifying a previous release that warned city residents of a door-to-door charity scam.
In a release Thursday, police said “further information has been provided indicating that the local organization HopeCo is not a charity but a licensed business.
HopeCo is able to conduct door-to-door fundraising.
“The SPS regrets any confusion caused by the initial news release,” the release said.
Saskatoon police still warn residents to be on guard with door-to-door solicitation. Anyone who is the victim of fraud is encouraged to report the incident to police.
