Severe thunderstorm watches, warnings have ended for Sask.

Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch and warning for parts of southwestern Saskatchewan.

Just after 4 p.m. a warning was put in place for the R.M of Reno including Consul Robsart and Willow Creek. Strong winds gusts, rain  and nickel size hail could be a result of the storm.

The thunderstorm started to develop near Onefour, Alta. and is moving northeast at 70 kilometres per hour. Environment Canada said in the release that if  you hear thunder, go indoors as lightening kills and injures Canadians every year.

In the other weather alert,  just after 3 p.m. a thunderstorm watch was issued for the R.M. of Big Stick including Golden Prairie, R.M. of Carmichael including Carmichael, R.M. of Clinworth including Sceptre Lemsford and Portreeve, R.M. of Deer Forks including Burstall and Estuary, R.M. of Enterprise including Richmound, R.M. of Fox Valley including Fox Valley, R.M. of Gull Lake including Gull Lake and Tompkins, R.M. of Happyland including Leader Prelate and Mendham, R.M. of Miry Creek including Abbey Lancer and Shackleton, R.M. of Piapot including Piapot and the R.M. of Pittville including Hazlet.

Environment Canada says conditions are favourable for the development of a severe thunderstorm in the region. In the alert they added some of these storms may be severe with damaging wind gusts of 90-100 kilometre per hour as well as nickel size hail.

The storm developed in Montana, U.S., and is likely to move north towards the Canadian border. The Cypress Hills region is likely to be effected early Friday evening.

As of 8:35 p.m. Environment Canada said the watches and warnings have ended for Saskatchewan.
