8:30 – Saskatchewan is moving to Step 2 of the reopening plan this weekend, but we still need more first doses to meet our target to lift all restrictions by July 11. Meanwhile, the NACI has updated its recommendations for second doses, saying an MRNA vaccine is now preferred over AstraZeneca. Derek Miller is chief of the SHA’s emergency operations centre, and he joins Gormley to tell us how the health authority is working to encourage more vaccinations, and how the decision by NACI will affected second doses for Saskatchewan residents.

12:00 – After more than a year without big events, there are several in the works in Regina! Tim Reid with the Regina Exhibition Association Ltd. joins Gormley to go over the plans for the CFL’s return to play in early August, the preparations for the Queen City Ex on two weekends (Aug. 20-22 and 25-27), and Agribition’s plans to return with 120,000 guests from Nov. 22-27. Meanwhile, Reid is working to transform the Canada Centre by adding features including an indoor skatepark, multi-use recreational courts, which Reid hopes will attract as many as 200,000 new visitors annually.
