The man accused of killing a mother of three in a small community west of Weyburn, Sask., made his first court appearance in Regina Monday morning.
Kevin Okafor did not enter a plea and only spoke to address who his lawyer is.
He has charged with the first-degree murder of Abbie Speir, who was found in a home in Yellow Grass after a fire.
Neighbours told 980 CJME the two lived together.
Okafor was also charged with one count of fleeing police and one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
He is scheduled to return to court in Regina on Wednesday.
