The temperature combined with windchills below -45 C forced Saskatoon and rural schools to cancel bus service Monday morning.
The cancellation for public and Catholic students is in effect for the entire day and includes all routes and charters.
The Prairie Spirit School Division cancelled bus service for all morning routes. They said afternoon service will be determined at noon.
Environment Canada issued an extreme cold warning for many areas of the province early Monday, including for Saskatoon, Kindersley, Melfort and Yorkton.
