A section of the Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) is dealing with a confirmed outbreak of COVID-19.
According to a media release Monday afternoon, the SPS has been alerted that two recent cases of COVID among one of its platoon patrols have been connected to a workplace transmission. The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) has declared an outbreak, which is the first step it takes to investigate and better understand how cases are transmitted in the community.
The release confirms that the diagnosed members were in close contact with other SPS officers on Dec. 12, 13, and 14. The service stressed that service levels to the public have not been affected, and officers will continue to respond to calls for service.
