A new TV show featuring MD Ambulance paramedics in Saskatoon is getting more episodes and a wider audience.
First Response: Paramedics aired its pilot on City TV Saskatchewan on Feb. 14. Since then it’s gained traction across North America according to MD Ambulance’s Troy Davies, who also works as an on-site producer.
“Their numbers have passed all expectations on the amount of views it’s getting,” Davies said.
Because of the show’s success, City TV has ordered five more episodes and plans to air the show nationally.
“A lot of work went into the pilot so I think they’re going to come back and film in May,” Davies said. “We’re looking to launch the episodes in November.”
It’s welcome news for the paramedics that the show follows, according to Davies they’re lining up to be included.
The first episode featured five paramedics in Saskatoon along with police and firefighters at the scene of incidents.
To get caught up before the new episodes air you can watch the pilot online.
