The City of Saskatoon says two of its transit operators have tested positive for COVID-19.
In a release, the city says the first person received a positive diagnosis on Friday and the second person received their diagnosis on Monday.
The operations manager for Saskatoon Transit, Mike Moellenbeck, says in the release that “neither of these cases are related and unlikely to be linked to transmission within the workplace. Both individuals have relayed that they were exposed to the virus in settings outside of the workplace.”
The affected routes and time periods are:
- Route 15 Civic Operations Centre — Saturday
- Route 2 Meadowgreen — Saturday, 4 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.
- Route 50 Lakeview/University — Sunday, 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The city says if you were riding the bus during those time periods, you should self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19. If symptoms develop, you should stay home and call HealthLine 811 to arrange for testing.
It also says enhanced cleaning and disinfecting have taken place in all impacted buses and areas since the positive cases were identified.
