The Saskatoon Police Service says it has issued a fine to one of the key participants in an anti-mask protest at the Midtown Plaza and several other downtown businesses last weekend.
Police say this is the first charge the force has laid under the Public Health Act. The fine is $2,800.
In a release Friday, police said several complaints were received about the protest.
Wearing a mask is mandatory at businesses that are open to the public.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
