Three 16-year-old boys spent Saturday night in police custody.
Police were called to the area of Attridge Drive and Kenderdine Road around 8 p.m. by a person who said they were almost hit by a vehicle and had a gun pointed at them.
About 15 minutes later officers spotted the vehicle near Ludlow Street and Lowe Road and conducted a high-risk stop.
The three boys were arrested and had a BB handgun and homemade brass knuckles seized from them.
All three are charged with possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, and two are charged with possession of a prohibited weapon for the brass knuckles.
On Sunday they are set to be seen by a Justice of the Peace.
There were no injuries.
