Heavy snow greeted people as they woke up in the Saskatoon area Sunday morning.
According to Environment Canada Meteorologist Dan Fulton up to ten centimetres of snow was expected to fall during the morning, before tapering off in the afternoon.
“The system will push out to the north into the Prince Albert area,” Fulton told 650 CKOM Sunday.
Not only is snow falling, but temperatures dipped below normal too said Fulton.
“We’re expecting a high around -9C which is fairly cool,” Fulton said. “Normals for this time of year are -2C.”
City crews are expected to be out with plows and salt and sand through the day.
It has the city reminding drivers to be cautious and drive for conditions.
While the storm is passing through central and northern Saskatchewan Sunday, Environment Canada expects another system to make its way through the southeast Monday.
Meteorologist Dan Fulton expects the snow to start to fall in Regina Sunday night and make for treacherous driving conditions Monday morning.
