City council expands access to mail-in ballots for Saskatoon civic election

Saskatoon voters will have more options to cast their ballot in the civic election this fall.

City council amended the election rules on Tuesday to allow for expanded access to mail-in ballots and increasing the number of advanced polling stations.

That includes plans for the first ever drive-thru advanced poll to be located in the north-end.

The city says the additional voting options are to encourage voter turnout while keeping people safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Eligible voters can apply online for a mail-in ballot by visiting the city’s website.

Mail-in ballots must be received at the election office by 8:00 p.m. on election day.

The civic election is set for November 9.
