The Saskatoon Police Service were called to a robbery at a business in the Lawson Heights area Sunday morning.
A man had entered a store in the 100 block of Cree Cres. just before 6 a.m. and attacked the employee, demanding cash.
When the employee attempted to flee the store, they were attacked by the man again.
When the suspect tried to get the money out of the register himself, he was unable to do so.
The 28-year-old man was arrested by responding officers not long after the attempted robbery.
He is facing charges of robbery, assault with a weapon, assault, and mischief.
The employee’s injuries were treated by paramedics on the scene.
The 28-year-old is expected to see a Justice of the Peace Sunday.
