The Saskatoon Folkfest board of directors announced on its website the multicultural event will not be taking place this summer because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
It had been scheduled to run Aug. 13-15.
In the notice on the website, organizers say while monitoring guidelines, they will continue to explore alternatives to try to engage with the community.
They say given the restrictions on public gatherings and the need to maintain physical distancing practices, there may be many hurdles to overcome but they are exploring innovative ways to still connect and share culture.
