It’s been an unusually cold spring so far in Saskatoon, but that won’t last forever.
David Phillips, a climatologist with Environment Canada, joined the Brent Loucks Show on 650 CKOM to chat about the transition to warmer weather.
He said the average high temperature for this time of year would be around plus 10 degrees.
“You know you’re clearly into the arctic air. This ridge has been just relentless. We’re stuck into that pattern,” he explained.
The forecast for this weekend is no different. On Friday, we’ll see a cloudy day with a high of plus three degrees. Then, both Saturday and Sunday will be sunny with a high of minus two.
However, Phillips doesn’t think there’s any reason to be pessimistic.
“It’s going to come, but I think we have to be a little more patient. Sometimes, spring is reluctant to arrive, and I think this is one of those years.”
