Premier Brad Wall is continuing his fight against Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s planned carbon tax.
In an interview with CTV, Trudeau said revenue from the tax will stay within the province. He added if Wall is worried about the cost for “his farmers” and on other industries, he can return the money back to them.
In a Facebook post, Wall said they aren’t his farmers, but the country’s and added the prime minister should work with the province’s government – not against it.
Wall said the tax will cause Canada to be less competitive globally and questioned the point of the measure if the solution will just give money back to those who were initially taxed.
Wall suggested the government should focus on technology to solve the climate change problem.
