A woman in Regina was charged with impaired driving early Saturday morning, just one day before the province’s new laws came into effect.
According to a release from the Regina Police Service, at around 2 a.m., police were called to the intersection of Lewvan Drive and Sherwood Drive for a report of a hit and run.
After a few minutes, police found the vehicle that a witness described near McIntosh Street and Rochdale Boulevard.
30-year-old Nicole Marie Peigan was arrested and charged with impaired driving, driving with a blood alcohol level over .08, and three counts of failing to stop at the scene of an accident.
Peigan was released on Officers Undertaking and will make her first court appearance in Provincial Court on these charges on January 16.
