Those in Saskatoon hoping for that perfect Christmas card look on Christmas, will get their wish after all.
Environment Canada’s latest forecast as of Saturday is calling for snow Saturday night in Saskatoon, the city is expected to get three to six centimeters over the weekend.
An official white Christmas requires at least 2 centimetres to be on the ground, according to the weather agency’s Mike Russo.
“It will defintely be a white Christmas,” he said.
Residents in the southeastern Saskatchewan are getting their snow shovels ready.
Environment Canada issued a special weather alert Thursday for southeast Saskatchewan beginning Christmas Day.
Communities including Weyburn, Estevan and Moosimin are expected to get 15-20 centimetres of snow.
“The track is important. It can miss you, or it can clobber you,” said David Phillips on Friday morning.
Just like Christmas morning, Phillips said we’ll just have to see what Mother Nature brings.
“The vast majority of Canada is going to have a white Christmas.”
“I bet a few loonies on the fact Regina will get one and (Saskatoon) may just get one.”
Phillips said a brown Christmas in Saskatoon has only happened three times in 60 years.
