The Saskatoon Fire Department has announced that Yvonne Raymer has been appointed to the rank of assistant chief-public relations and community risk reduction.
Raymer started her career with Saskatoon fire in 1995 in the administrative office.
In 1997 she became a fire dispatcher, and in 2007 she became a fire inspector with the department.
Raymer is the first woman in the history of the Saskatoon Fire Department to be appointed to a chief officer rank.
