A 40-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries Friday night following a dog attack on the 400 block of Avenue E South.
Members of the air support unit located the attack after a call came in around 11:50 p.m.
Responding officers on the ground found the man still being attacked by two large-breed dogs.
The dogs began to aggressively approach the officers, according to a police media release.
As a result, the officers shot and killed the dogs.
