Saskatoon police have laid several weapons charges against a 29-year-old man.
Officers responded to a business on the 100 block of 3rd Avenue South around 1:10 p.m. Tuesday for a report of an unwanted person, police said in a media release.
As they arrived a man, trying to cover his face, was seen fleeing the area.
He refused to follow officers instructions and a brief altercation broke out, the media release said.
Police arrested the 29-year-old and found he was hiding a meat cleaver in his pants and a large hatchet in his backpack.
He’s charged with carrying a dangerous weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, breach of probation and breach of undertaking.
