A familiar face will no longer be greeting moviegoers across Canada.
Saskatoon-born Tanner Zipchen announced on social media Monday that he was let go by Cineplex as the company’s national pre-show host.
“Thank you for the love and support over the years, especially those who have been with me since the voting days,” Zipchen wrote.
“It’s been an honour being a part of your group hangouts, date nights, and family outings.”
Zipchen had served as the host since 2015 when he won a contest to fill the role. In that time he interviewed movie stars and visited blockbuster sets, providing viewers an inside look to how their favourite films were made.
