Another Saskatoon city councillor is submitting his name to the fall’s municipal election ballot.
Ward 1 councillor Darren Hill announced his intentions to seek re-election Saturday in a media release.
“I wanted to let you know that this fall I will be once again humbly asking voters for the privilege of serving Ward 1 as Saskatoon city councillor,” Hill said in the release.
Hill was first elected in 2006 and is beginning his 14th year as councillor.
“I have seen first-hand how local leaders can build better lives for residents through the delivery of better roads and transit, affordable housing, and more livable, resilient communities,” Hill said.
The release states Hill is currently working as third vice-president of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities
The Sonningdale, Sask. born councillor attended the University of Saskatchewan and has been a resident of Saskatoon for over 30 years.
Seven councillors have now expressed intention to run in the 2020 municipal election. Hilary Gough and Sarina Gersher say they will likely seek re-election. Zach Jefferies said he hasn’t reached a decision yet.
