The old police headquarters on 4th Avenue could soon be under new ownership, if the City of Saskatoon accepts their $10.7 million offer.
ICR Commercial said a buyer has been found for the property, which has sat vacant since the Saskatoon Police Service moved into their 25th Street locale.
Duchuck Holdings plans on converting the property into a modern office space with more windows along the facade.
ICR Managing Partner Barry Stuart says the building has already had a lot of the interior demolished to make the transition to another service easier.
“The police station was very purpose-specific,” he said. “The developer wants to… complete the demolition to create the perfect shell.”
Stuart said the parking lot adjacent to 130 4th Ave N is also included in the deal.
City council still has to approve the purchase, as well as a potential five-year tax abatement strategy for the property.
