Extreme cold warnings issued in west-central Sask.

Environment Canada has issued extreme cold warnings for the Meadow Lake, Prince Albert and Battlefords areas.

An arctic ridge is moving into the area Thursday night bringing temperatures around -30 C with extreme windchill values, Environment Canada said in the warning.

Because of conditions, the weather office said there is a higher risk of frostbite and hypothermia.
