650 CKOM’s sister station Rock 102 will be broadcasting live from the Co-op Food Store at Centre Mall on Thursday as they collect donations for the Saskatoon Food Bank and Learning Centre.
The 2019 edition of Stuff the Bus is scheduled to run from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
During the day donations of non-perishable food will be collected and stacked inside a Saskatoon Transit bus.
The campaign began in 2005 when a transit operator wanted to do more for people in need.
Since that first year, people have donated more than 136,914 kilograms (301,843 pounds) of food.
This year the most needed items at the food bank include instant baby formula, hearty soups and stews, whole grain pasta and cereal, canned vegetables, beans and proteins and 100 per cent real fruit juices.
Monetary donations will be matched by Nutrien.
