Saskatchewan’s minimum wage increased by 26 cents to an hourly rate of $11.32 on Tuesday.
The change was announced back in June, making it the 11th time the wage has been increased since 2007.
According to the Retail Council of Canada, Saskatchewan’s minimum wage is among the lowest of the provinces and territories.
Nova Scotia’s minimum wage for employees who’ve been on the job less than three months is $11.05, before they’re bumped up to $11.55 per hour.
In Manitoba, the rate rose to $11.65 on Oct. 1.
Saskatchewan’s minimum wage is tied to changes in the Consumer Price Index (CPI), a bundle of goods and services that a household would commonly buy.
