Charges against Jesse Sangster have been upgraded in the Tiki Laverdiere homicide case.
The 23-year-old now faces charges of first-degree murder, kidnapping and improperly interfering with a human body.
These charges are in addition to the previous charge of theft of a motor vehicle.
Laverdiere went missing in May in North Battleford, and her remains were found near the city by police in July.
