A Go Fund Me page has been set up to raise money for Gerald Stanley’s family in the wake of his acquittal.
“All funds raised will be going to the Stanley family, in an effort to help them recoup some of their lost time, property and vehicles that were damaged, harvest income, and sanity during this entire difficult situation they have been dealing with over the past two years,” reads the story section of the online fundraiser.
Since it was created Friday night, the Go Fund Me page has surpassed its goal of $25,000 and a new one of $50,000 was created.
As of noon on Sunday, 497 people-many of whom have remained anonymous-have donated a total of $36,000.
