The man accused of drunk driving in the crash that killed Tanner Kaufmann on Sunday is now free on bail.
Colby Heid, 19, is subject to a number of conditions including a curfew and a driving and alcohol ban. This is little comfort to Kaufmann’s friend David Limacher.
“There’s a family that has a husband who’s not coming home. There’s kids that have a father who’s not coming home,” Limacher said outside court after the bail hearing Thursday.
RCMP say Heid was driving on the Pasqua Street extension grid road south of Zehner when his pickup collided with another truck, killing Kaufmann. The crash happened north of Regina Sunday evening.
Heid will appear in Provincial court on June 20, 2017 for sentencing.
