Stanley Mission RCMP have laid a second-degree murder charge in connection to a suspicious death in the northern community on Monday.
The RCMP received a complaint of an injured man at a home in Stanley Mission, located about 80 kilometres northeast of La Ronge. Officers arrived at the scene to find a dead 29-year-old man identified as Robert Phillip McKenzie of Stanley Mission.
Investigators determined an altercation fatally injured McKenzie.
The suspect involved in the altercation fled the scene and was arrested at his home Monday evening.
Darcy Patrick Charles has been charged with second degree murder.
Charles made his first court appearance in La Ronge Provincial Court on Thursday.
