More than 2,000 kilometres from home, two people from Swift Current died in a crash in Missouri.
Local radio station KTTN reports it happened Sunday morning near Chillicothe, Missouri, which is northeast of Kansas City.
Two people died and another was hurt in the crash. Lesley Oman, 58, and Sharee Oman, 56, were pronounced dead at the scene. The man hurt was Larry Braun, 67, from Medicine Hat.
According to police, Braun was driving eastbound at 9 a.m. when the truck traveled off the south sideĀ of U-S Highway 36, hitting an embankment. The truck went air borne, landing upside down.
The Omans are the first two people to have died in a traffic crash in Livingston County this year.
