A head-on crash between a semi and a pickup truck along Highway 6 is leaving a Regina man with serious injuries.
RCMP said the crash happened around 12:50 p.m. Thursday about eight kilometres north of the city. The pickup was headed south and the semi northbound. While the semi driver wasn’t hurt, the 35-year-old driver of the truck was taken to hospital via STARS air ambulance.
Diesel fuel and hydraulic fluid from the semi seeped onto the road and into the ditch. Envirotech was called in to clean up.
The road was closed virtually all day and evening after the crash while police investigated and tried to figure out a cause. They were able to rule out alcohol.
Drivers were re-routed to a grid road and around the scene.
