It was a brief break from the extreme cold but it didn’t last long.
Environment Canada has issued extreme cold warnings for many parts of northern and central Saskatchewan including Saskatoon, Prince Albert and La Ronge.
Extreme wind chills are expected to be below -40 C beginning Tuesday night. The cold weather is expected to persist in parts of the province until Friday.
Environment Canada said the extreme cold puts everyone at risk, warning the risk of frost bite and hypothermia elevates when the mercury dips this low.
