Canadian Robert Hall was in fact beheaded by his captors in the Philippines.
The confirmation came Tuesday from authorities in the Philippines who are vowing to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Hall was abducted from a marina last September along with another Canadian John Ridsdale.
They were both killed by the militant group Abu Sayyaf after ransoms for their release were not paid.
