A 37-year-old man is facing a charge of second-degree murder following an incident in Saskatoon’s River Heights neighbourhood.
Police say it is Saskatoon’s first homicide of 2019.
Officers were called to a home on Kootenay Drive at around 8:30 a.m and discovered a dead woman in the home upon arrival.
Police described the woman as a 39-year-old but did not provide any other information as next of kin had not yet been notified of the death.
The victim and the accused were known to each other, according to police.
The man is expected to appear in front of a justice of the peace within the next 24 hours.
